CCA is using scare tactics to convince you to give up your voting rights, in capitulation to a false claim of breach-of-lease by City Attorney Tom Carr. CCA is not in breach of its lease, and should not succumb to threats by the City.
WHY vote NO
It’s not “modernization” it’s suppressing dissenting voices opposed to commercialization.
It is improper for City Attorney Tom Carr, without direction from city council, to threaten Chautauqua with legal action.
This threatens the
very essence of the institution when we should
protect it.
Reject putting Chautauqua back in the
hands of the few self-propagating directors as it was in the 1970s. Reject disenfranchising Boulder citizens.
The rush to change the bylaws, and the secrecy around the board vote, violate public process and the tenets set
forth by the
City of Boulder
in the Public Participation Working
Group approved by the Boulder City Council (August
2017).
